Software Interface Designer

Do you want to work with a world-renowned robotics project? And have you participated in investigating and developing software products that live up to the highest standards in web, gaming and rich client interface? If so, you just might be our new Software Interface Designer. You will join the Robotics Software Group, and your new base will be Billund, Denmark.

We are responsible for publishing software for robotics kits that will help users build robots, engage in activities, enable their robots to move etc. – targeted at children from the age of 7 and upward. Your overarching goal will be to develop a unique software user interface and experiences with a high aesthetic and usability that live up to the needs of current and future LEGO customers.

Co-create and prototype a portfolio of software solutions
Overall, you will be responsible for participating in creating and prototyping a portfolio of software solutions. Specifically, your tasks will include studying existing analyses and products that have been developed previously in the LEGO Group and subsequently standardise them in terms of behaviour, graphics and layout. Working with icons, pixels etc., you will shape and layout the user interface. Additionally, you will be responsible for adapting the LEGO look and feel into the robotics software without compromising the usability.

The position involves close cooperation with physical product designers and software experts in the Robotics Group. And you will be involved in world-class implementation of interfaces. All in all – your goal is to make easy to learn, easy to use and aesthetically pleasing products, which will make the user's interaction as simple and efficient as possible.

Software user interface and user experience designer
You have a background as Software User Interface and/or User Experience Designer. Highly skilled in graphic software you are able to quickly transform abstract ideas into visible and tangible prototypes. Skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Macromedia are essential. You get things done – such as prototypes – and you are able to work with colleagues to generate ideas and implement them. And you are able to bring these ideas into the final product. You must be fluent in English – and knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
